AutoBrainstorm use case: Product for college students under $50

On this post, we will show how AutoBrainstorm works for a use case where we want to get ideas for a product for college students. The problem description1 was the following:

The product will target college students in the United States. It should be a physical good, not a service or software. I’d like a product that could be sold at a retail price of less than about USD 50. The product need not yet exist, nor may it necessarily be clearly feasible.

A total of 539 ideas were automatically generated and after removing the duplicated ideas there were left 416 unique ideas. The following plot shows how the search space was exhausted:

Now we list some of the generated ideas. For brevity, we show just a few examples:

  3. Compact Portable Desk Organizer: A versatile desk organizer which can expand or collapse, made to keep stationery and gadgets in order, saving space and ensuring a clean study environment.
  4. Multifunctional Pen: Not just an ink pen, but also a stylus, USB drive, and laser pointer, designed to aid students in both traditional note-taking and modern presentations.
  5. Smart Notebook: A reusable notebook that allows you to digitally upload your handwritten notes to cloud services, making it easier to organize and share study materials.
  6. Privacy Pop-Up Tent for Study: A lightweight, easy-to-setup pop-up tent providing a private space for concentrated study sessions anywhere, ensuring privacy in crowded or shared living spaces.
  7. Portable Hammock: An easily foldable and durable hammock that can be set up between trees or in special stands, offering a relaxing study break or leisure time outdoors.
  8. Collapsible Coffee Cup: An environmentally friendly, collapsible silicone coffee cup, designed to reduce waste and save space in a student’s bag.
  9. Mini Plant Grow Kit: A small, easy-to-maintain kit for growing plants or herbs, designed to improve room ambiance and provide stress relief through the care of a living plant.
  10. Ergonomic Study Pillow: A pillow uniquely designed to support proper posture during long study sessions on the bed or floor, promoting comfort and reducing strain.
